Flops stir feuds at the Welsh culture palace     

AN arts centre funded with more than £30m of lottery money and opened by the Queen four months ago is being plagued by management infighting and accusations of bullying amid a series of failed shows.

The Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff has sold less than 40% of the tickets for its own shows in its main auditorium. Some performances were only 12% full.

Senior figures have put part of the blame on Judith Isherwood, the centre's Australian chief executive. This weekend one board member said her management style created a "culture of fear" and another source said he found her "dictatorial".
