Theatre, dance and performance reviews

Downtown Paradise

Out of Wales Theatre Company , , April-19-96
‘A measured and provoking drama, confident in its craftsmanship. There are moments when the insanity of human barbarism glides darkly into view. The dialogue is full of acrid sarcasm and reeking tough talk. Richard C. Sharp displays a powerhouse of negative emotions, simultaneously registering the character’s humanising insecurities. He is balanced by the sassy presence of Amanda Hurwitz’s Bloom, whose loquacious manner forcefully betrays the limitations of her liberalism, lighting sparks of emotional truth.’
