Theatre, dance and performance reviews

Downtown Paradise

Out of Wales Theatre Company , , April-19-96
‘Drawing from real life events, Mark Jenkins takes us on a dangerous racial and sexual journey in Downtown Paradise, a play that gives us an astute sense of time and place. The use of (Motown) music gives us important historical signposts. Richard C. Sharp gives a magnificent performance as a civil rights activist who becomes emotionally involved with his white lawyer, played by Amanda Hurwitz.’
