THE ARTS Council is rapidly losing its political friends and is moving closer to abolition. Some of its recent funding decisions have been so unpopular that the call is now coming for decisions on who gets what money to be made by the National Assembly - despite the risk therein of a class of politically-incorrect art that is denied any help at all. The possibility of the total closure of the council was put forward by party deputy president Rob Humphreys, and it won the support of Jenny Randerson, AM for Cardiff Central.
