![]() The Tainted Love season, packed with sexy, powerful and passionate performances of drama, dance and comedy will soon take centre stage at Wales Millennium Centre’s 200-seater theatre, the Weston Studio, in March. The first performance to feature under the Tainted Love banner includes Matilda Leyser in Life, Line & Deadpoint on Wednesday 14 March, featuring a combination of dramatic and circus techniques to create a powerful contemporary performance. This aerial performance combines aerial theatre and circus techniques, accessible to a wide and diverse range of audiences. Next in line is Sex with Pete Searles (17th March), previously performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005. Try and dispel any images of a grubby old man in a battered Mack, as the gifted comedy storyteller takes the audience on a hilarious journey through his entire sex life to date, in a part stand-up, part storytelling and part fantastic physical comedy, with the performance winning the Hairline Highlight Award 2005. Following their brilliant performance of Get Carter last year, Red Shift Theatre Company returns on 21 March with the new drama; Vertigo and a literary retelling of Hitchcock’s classic genre-hopping psychological thriller. This production presents an ending to equal The Usual Suspects. Red Shift uses the original novel of Vertigo, setting the drama against the backdrop of the German invasion of 1940’s Paris. Next to feature at the Weston Studio is the brilliant one-woman show featuring Lizzie Roper (23 March), who was nominated for Best Solo Show in The Stage Awards for Acting Excellence. Peccadillo Circus explores the nation's obsessions, fetishes and dirtiest secrets through revealing interviews. Lizzie Roper, fresh from her starring role in the West End production of One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest, unearths characters from real life, all with a different take on sex. Vincent Dance Theatre presents you with Punch Drunk on Wednesday 28 March, in a celebration of their tenth anniversary. This features a cast of seductive showgirls and shameless men performing an exotic variety show, including risqué routines, acrobatic feats and clever turns. Slipping in and out of half remembered acts they piece together the tatters of a show long since past it’s prime. It provides an original blend of dance, mime, music and circus theatre. Brighton’s contemporary company Voodoo Vaudeville introduces Skin of the Moon to the Weston Studio on 30 March A stellar cast of five will sing, and dance their way through a time travelling tale of forbidden love in a sensational, sexy blend of vaudeville theatre, comedy and film. The UK’s leading tango dancers Marie and Giraldo, and the Tango Siempre quartet, bring Subitango to life at the Weston Studios on 5 April. Subitango illustrates the history and development of Tango Argentina, with live music combined with breathtaking choreography. The music spans all eras and styles of Tango Argentina, from classic tangos, milongas and valses to contemporary pieces.
