Four children explore a derelict theatre in Cardiff in the middle of the night but are chased out of the building by a scary Goat.... sorry, GHOST.
Nobody believes their story.

The Police are too scared to investigate so a couple of “Special Agents” take a look. They too are chased away.

So, a secretive division of the Army are sent in, The Special Super Secret Squad, and they bring their other-worldly adviser, Dr. Chester Kronk with them.

With the aid of world-famous clairvoyant, Claire Voyant, he discovers the cause of the problem: a problem that involves the nature of the whole Universe.....
...... and some members of the Universe take notice!

This play is a mix of traditional Theatre, Ultra-Violet Spectacle and Musical Comedy. There are puppets, masks, circus and strange and bangin’ songs, inspired by the likes of Public Enemy, Pentangle, Bugsy Malone, Kraftwerk and Aphex Twin.

This play is performed by 8 – 21 year olds who are either new or old members of Llanover Hall’s Youth Theatre and Art groups. The groups have contributed parts of the script themselves and a scenery-making group have designed and made everything, under the guidance of Artists Caroline Smith and Jamie Lee.

Open Door Theatre is a major project for young people run by the Performing Arts Department of Llanover Hall that finishes with this production at Easter 2007. It is funded by a grant from the National Lottery. It has included all the Drama age groups and has involved an extra theatre production each term. It cost only £1 to register and £1 per week after that and the aim of the project was to make Youth Theatre accessible to all – not only acting but also writing, design, prop-making and the technical aspects: lights, sound and A/V.

This Play is suitable for audiences aged 5 and above but it does include some loud music, some scary cartoon-like moments and aliens.

April 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th. 7.30 pm.
Llanover Hall Arts Centre, Romilly Road, Canton, Cardiff. CF5 1FH.
