![]() Thursday 26th April 1.30pm Quicksilver Theatre presents Watercolours by Shaun Prendergast “If anyone asks I’ll say the wind sent the plane into the attic and I just came in to get it back…” Watercolours tells the story of a young boy who goes to stay with his grandparents whilst his parents move to a new home in a new town. Upset about this big change in his life and having to make new friends, he is not a happy boy. But then he meets Cressida who lives in the attic. She is a photojournalist who is going blind and as she tells him stories about her life an unexpected friendship develops. Together they each confront their anxieties and learn that with a little courage new experiences can turn into exciting adventures. In this poignant yet funny story, using physical comedy and magical trickery, Charlie faces his fears as the performers fill the stage with the illusion of live painting through projection and video. For 5-8 year olds. Tickets: £5 (1 teacher’s place free for every 10 tickets booked) ____________________________________________________________ Sat 28 April 9am – 3.30pm A practical approach to teaching Shakespeare Led by the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Learning Department We are delighted to welcome the Royal Shakespeare Company to the arts centre to deliver this practical, one-day course exploring theatre-based strategies to assist teachers in stimulating students' understanding, enjoyment and appreciation of Shakespeare's plays.
