Coppelia - Independent Ballet Wales     

Coppelia - Independent Ballet Wales Independent Ballet Wales present an exquisite interpretation of one of the worlds favourite classical ballets at Pontardawe Arts Centre on Friday 20th April at 7.30pm.
Featuring delicate costumes, original and classical choreography and the eternal music of Delibes, Independent Ballet Wales' production of Coppelia is colourful and imaginative.


The enchanting story tells of the young Swanilda and her fiancé Franz who is captivated by a strange girl, Coppelia, who lives with the mysterious and enigmatic Doctor Coppelius. Wondering why Coppelia never moves, Swanilda and her friends sneek into the old man's house.

Originally Choreographed by Arther Saint-Leon in 1870, Coppelia has been interpreted and adapted many time over the years, most famously by Enrico Cecchetti, Lev Ivanov and Marius Petipa.

Workshop 5 - 6 pm, Free on purchase of ticket, limited spaces available, early booking advisable.
