![]() After last year’s record breaking Jack & the Beanstalk, the New Theatre staff are geared up for another sensational panto season. The show went on sale last December and already over 10,000 tickets have been snapped up. Currently the prices are pegged at the same as last year’s show, however this is only until the end of the month. Therefore panto fans are urged to book before 1 May to beat the price rise. Lesley Joseph is most famous for her role as man-eater Dorien in the hit BBC series Birds of a Feather which ran from 1989-1998. Over a hundred episodes were made catapulting her to international fame. Lesley also appeared in Jack Rosenthal’s acclaimed TV comedy The Knowledge and is a regular on the society scene, frequently appearing in celebrity magazines. Taking to the New Theatre stage for 71 performances over a six week period she will seek to thwart the happiness of Snow White, causing her to seek refuge with the seven dwarfs. Being pantoland, of course, there’s a handsome Prince on hand to help Snow White realise her dream of true love. New Theatre Marketing Manager, Matt Smith, said “Lesley is the best Wicked Queen in the business. We are delighted to be bringing her to Cardiff this Christmas. Tony Wright and Andy Jones have been a huge hit in past pantomimes and their return guarantees that, once again, the New Theatre panto will be no.1 in Wales. I urge everyone to book now for the best seats – and the best prices.” Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs will be at the New Theatre, Cardiff from Saturday 15 December 2007 to Saturday 26 January 2008. Tickets are on sale now with prices held at last year’s rates until 30 April. They can be booked via the Box Office on (029) 2087 8889 or online at www.newtheatrecardiff.co.uk.
