THE controversial decision by the Arts Council of Wales not to award stage company Made in Wales a grant to continue its theatre work was flawed and unfair, says a member of the evaluation panel. Olwen Wymark represented the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain on a four-strong arts council panel earlier this year to decide the fate of companies Made in Wales and Dalier Sylw. That process culminated in Dalier Sylw being awarded £170,000 to produce new theatre in Welsh and English and the effective closure of Made in Wales.
