Top Clowns Hit Cardiff This Half-Term
|
Cardiff has beaten off competition from theatres in London, Manchester and Birmingham to host a special show this half-term celebrating 60 years of Clown’s International, the world’s oldest established clowns organisation in the world.
The show at The Sherman Theatre on Thursday 31 May 2pm will feature a superb line-up of International Award-Winning clowns and is produced and compered by Cardiff’s very own Paddy the Clown. Paddy comments:
“The Sherman was chosen because it has a great history of providing wonderful entertainment for families. I’m thrilled to share the stage with such top class clowns to celebrate Clowns International’s birthday. It’s something of which Cardiff can be very proud.”
Clowns performing at the event at The Sherman include Swedish-born Gingernutt who makes his first ever visit to Cardiff after flying in from Singapore having performed at an orangutan’s 40th birthday party!
The well-loved Cardiff-based white-face clown Franco Bassetti, will also make an appearance along with the welcome return of the Winners of the Gold Medal for Buffoonery in America, Sonny and Rainbow. Paddy continues:
“The highlight of the night for me will be coaxing my good friend, Taffy the Clown out of retirement and turning him into a human bowling ball! I can’t wait!”
Paddy the Clown and Friends will be at The Sherman Theatre on Thursday 31 May 2pm. All tickets are £7 and can be booked from The Sherman Theatre Box Office on 029 2064 6900.
