LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL TALENTS COMBINE AT CHAPTER

LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL TALENTS COMBINE AT CHAPTER The Horizons Dance Festival reaches Chapter with a unique double bill of local and international talent on Friday 1 & Saturday 2 June (8pm) as Cardiff’s own choreographer and dancer Cai Tomos presents GWYRTH/Miracle alongside London-based Annie Pui Ling Lok’s Monument.

The double bill marks the opening of Chapter’s part in Horizons that will go on to present a varied range of small-scale international and local dance over the next six weeks of the festival.

GWYRTH is a new collaboration between a Cardiff-based team featuring choreographer and dancer Cai Tomos. Gwyrth is the second show in a series performed by Cai and is based on his battle with depression. The performance also features visual artist John Collingswood and musician Tom Raybould, which reflects Cai’s interest in combining a number of different elements. GWYRTH is unique example of Cai’s trademark expression of honesty as the work explores the moments in our lives when we are touched by the miraculous.

Monument, a new work by London-based choreographer Annie Pui Ling Lok shows souvenirs of particular places and occasions revisited and represented through movement, as she attempts to recall and organize a non-chronological archive of memories.

Tickets for this fantastic show are available from Chapter box office priced at £10 / £8 / £6 on 029 2030 4400 or book online @ www.chapter.org
