![]() "A marvellous piece of musical theatre…funny, scary, involving, imaginative and engaging, as fine an introduction to the power of the dramatic art as you could want." The Western Mail, 2001 Due to popular demand following our highly successful 2001 and 2003 tours, ’The Lazy Ant’ is back! In a newly commissioned script by Mark Ryan, directed by Steve Davis, ’The Lazy Ant’ has been developed to be a bigger and better version than ever before! ’The Lazy Ant’ is a colourful, funny story of an ant who thinks she works too hard. We follow her adventures when she leaves the safety of the anthill and encounters creatures such as Barry the Bee, Solomon the Snail, Spiro the Spider, Cerys the Cabbage White and the beetles Boris and Doris! Not forgetting to mention Angharad’s pet, Andy the Aphid! Especially created for children aged 5+, ’The Lazy Ant’ is not only packed full of colourful characters, but has memorable music, songs and dance which makes it an absolute “must see”. ‘The Lazy Ant’ continues Spectacle’s commitment to promote literacy and oracy among children with the use of a full colour storybook of the play, which will be available to each child. As an added educational extra, Teacher’s Resource Packs containing the words and music for the songs, as well as other follow up materials, accompanies the production. Bookings are now being taken for this production which will premiere on Wednesday 11th July at Spectacle’s base, Coleg Morgannwg Rhondda. If you would like to either make your booking or attend the performance, please contact Elaine Lord, Marketing Manager on 01443 430700. |
