Power House of Female Precision in Dance House’s final performance of Horizons Festival |
![]() Joanne Fong performed at the Dance House recently with the Mark Bruce Company in the critically acclaimed Sea of Bones as well as working as Diversions, the Dance Company of Wales as rehearsal director. The Dance House is delighted to providing a stage for Joanne’s work, Open Spaces – Tidal Edits. Choreographed and performed by Joanne the work uses the body and the projected image in a performance created in collaboration with animator Filip Acada. Jane Mason presents an excerpt from her current full length solo work Come On Sun. initially created for the 2006 Place Prize featuring music by long time collaborator Jules Maxwell. A founding member of Random Dance Company, Jane has been producing work for live performance since 1997 and more recently for film. Laila Diallo premieres an engaging new solo, choreographed and performed by herself. The solo features Lhasa de Sela’s song Llegar hasta tu lado and sees the reunion of a favoured team of collaborators: Andy Downie, Theo Clinkard and Phil King who respectively contribute lighting costume and sound design. Also an ex member of Random Dance Laila created roles for all the company’s productions in the period between 1997 – 2005 and toured and taught extensively throughout Europe, Asia and North America. These three performers have worked extensively with each other and are key players in the contemporary dance scene.
