ANY DREAM WILL DO’s CRAIG CHALMERS IS THE NEW THEATRE’S JOSEPH
|
When producer Bill Kenwright brings his renowned production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT back to the New Theatre, Cardiff this November, audiences will undoubtedly recognise the young man in the leading role…
25 year-old CRAIG CHALMERS was one of the most popular finalists in the recent hit BBC series Any Dream Will Do. Watched by millions every Saturday night, the show was produced to find a leading man for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new West End production, and Craig, chosen from tens of thousands of wannabes, delighted audiences week after week with his vocal talents, finishing in the top five.
Bill Kenwright, one of the most successful and prolific producers in British theatre today, was on the expert panel of judges alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber, Denise Van Outen and John Barrowman and is delighted that Craig is taking on the leading role for his touring production.
New Theatre Manager Susan Lewis is equally excited to welcome Craig to the New: “Everyone at the theatre is ecstatic that Craig will be joining us in Joseph. Always a firm favourite with Cardiff audiences, I am sure Craig will bring his own spark to an already dazzlingly colourful show!”
Before Joseph, Edinburgh born Craig was a professional vocalist and entertainer. He was part of successful boyband 'No Reason' who enjoyed a top ten hit as well as performing at the Kings Theatre in Edinburgh and Hampden Stadium alongside Blue, McFly, Sugababes and Girls Aloud. Craig has also performed at the SECC (Scottish Exhibition Conference Centre).
