The Green RoomMusicality and Acting with the cast from NEVER FORGET Saturday 4th August 2007 9.30am till 12Noon The Green Room planned for Saturday 21st July 2007 with Craige Els has been postponed until Saturday 4th August as Craige will now be joined by ALL of his co-stars playing the band in the brand new musical. Craige Els, playing Jake Turner in the musical added "We felt that it would be important to feel comfortable with the new show, and I want to be able to talk about it in more depth. It would be great to talk with the Actorsworkshop members after the reviews are out and the audience reaction has been analysed. I am really looking forward to it, and now that my co-stars can also join in we will be able to discuss and work on so much more." Appearing in the very special Green Room will now be Craige Els, Eaton James, Dean Chisnal, Tim Driesen and Stephane Anelli, who all play members of the band in the musical. David Wilson, Actorsworkshop's Business Director commented "The cast members of the musical have all got a varied background in performance, all coming to the industry via very different routes, this will allow for an inciteful and interesting discussion with the participants. Its important for those looking at becoming a performer, whether in Musicals, TV or straight drama, that they understand the demands made on professionals and the various ways into the industry. This workshop, with the talent, experience and training of those from the cast, will give everyone at the workshop a grounding in what training is available, what to expect from agents and auditions, castings and how to get started as a professional." For example: Craige Els started his training at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and went onto the Drama Studio in London and Tim Driesen was born in Belgium and graduated from Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom (UK) with an Honours Diploma in Musical Theatre. Already, in these two examples there are vast differences in experience and training and this is what the Green Room is hoping to bring out in the session. The Green Room is a new series of workshops that put acting enthusiasts in touch with those working in the industry. The workshops, being held at the stunning Gate Theatre in Roath, are a continuation of Actorsworkshop’s usual sessions held mid-week at Chapter but will provide a direct link to those "in the know". The series started on the 14th July with Ben Harlow, appearing in Beauty and The Beast and no stranger to touring across the UK and the globe. Ben, alongside Jamie Lee Actorsworkshop’s Artistic Director, they ran a master-class introducing the entertainment industry. Next up after the 4th August with the cast from NEVER FORGET is The Green Room's conclusion, held on the 11th August with Lewis Vaughan-Jones a news correspondent for the ITV Wales news region. Lewis, a regular ITV Wales News correspondent and television presenter for the ITN news network, will join The Green Room team to discuss his experience in TV, offer helpful exercises for presenters and lead a general Q&A on the bustling and manic newsroom.
