Bara Caws is 30 years old!

Bara Caws will be celebrating its 30th birthday this August at the National Eisteddfod in Mold!! Thirty years ago Bara Caws first production ‘Croeso i’r Roial’ was performed at the Eisteddfod in Wrexham!!!
This year Bara Caws will open its new production – CAFFI BASRA by Eilir Jones – in the Clwyd Room at Clwyd Theatr Cymru on Monday 6th August at 8.00.
There will be performances from Monday 6th August until Thursday 9th August. Tickets can be purchased/booked at Clwyd Theatr Cymru Box Office: 08453303565. Theatr Clwyd is offering free transport daily from the Eisteddfod field to the theatre. Further information from Theatr Clwyd’s website www.clwyd-theatr-cymru.co.uk.
The actors are: IWAN CHARLES, GWENNO ELIS HODGKINS, EILIR JONES, DYFED THOMAS and AWEN WYN WILLIAMS. The director
is Tudur Owen and the music is by Emyr Rees. This will be the first
time that Iwan Charles has worked with us, the first show that
Tudur Owen has directed for Bara Caws and also the first time that
Eilir Jones has written for the company.!! Dyfed Thomas appeared in Bara
Caws’ first show, Croeso i’r Roial 30 years ago!!!! Dyfed feels it’s a great honour to be on stage with the company 30 years on!!!
Following the performances at the Eisteddfod, CAFFI BASRA will be
touring for five weeks from September 4th until 6th October around venues/clubs in communities around North Wales. We hope that audiences from the South will have the opportunity of seeing the show during their visit to the Eisteddfod!!!
Tickets are selling quite well at Clwyd Theatr Cymru, so we do recommend that
everyone books their ticket in advance – for the Eisteddfod and for the tour.
