FIVE theatres are considering legal action against the Arts Council of Wales after the arts quango suspended its decision to award them franchises for Young People’s Theatre (YPT). The Independent Theatre Council, which represents the theatres is taking legal advice after offers made to five companies were then withdrawn by ACW, following a concerted appeal campaign by Gwent Theatre which had not been awarded a franchise.
