Henry V For Kids
15
Theater Gruene Sosse, Germany. A co-production with Theatre Brycheiniog, Brecon.

Staying true in spirit to Shakespeare's 'Henry V', this is an ideal introduction to the language and themes explored in the classic text, this is above all accessible and hugely enjoyable for children aged 7+.

Henry is still young when he becomes King of England. The treasury is empty and the palace needs renovating. In an old book, he reads that France used to belong to England and that there is a wonderful castle in France.
Henry wants that fortress - and the rest of France besides. And the cost, he cares not one jot. Henry V's vision of power, glory, kingship, and the rigors of war are often used to celebrate English patriotism. In this production, they are used to decry war's inhumanity and senselessness.
