Dance and Fashion Unite for New Show
|
Dance and fashion unite in an exciting new show at the Sherman Theatre this month choreographed by acclaimed choreographer Siobhan Davies and one of the UK’s most exciting young fashion designers, Jonathan Saunders.
Siobhan Davies Dance company will present their new work, Two Quartets, featuring eight of the UK’s finest dance artists, in an extraordinary show of physical movement, images and emotions.
Celebrated fashion designer Jonathan Saunders, who designs his own label, as well as consulting for some of the largest fashion houses in Europe, has designed the dancers costumes to reflect the show’s elements of light and dark.
The piece has also been developed with visual artist Sam Collins who uses film footage and panels of light to create a stunning visual presentation of thought, images and emotions set to composer and musician Matteo Fargion’s musical score of voice, piano and percussion.
Siobhan Davies Dance was formed by Siobhan Davies in 1998 after a 15 year association with London Contemporary Dance Theatre, fulfilling her desire to create work on a more intimate and personal level. This aspect of the Siobhan’s choreography has earned the company respect as a powerful force in contemporary dance.
Two Quartets is on at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff on Saturday 13 October 7.30pm with a free pre show talk at 6.45pm. Tickets are £14 (Reductions £12) and can be booked from the Sherman Theatre Box Office on 029 2064 6900. This show contains adult language and is suitable for ages 14+
