THE Arts Council of Wales has been accused by arts groups of political calculation and backroom fixing. The quango is being attacked by the organisations in written submissions to the National Assembly’s post-16 training and education committee which is reviewing arts policy. The General Arts Lobby for Wales, the Presenting the Arts Group and the Wales Association for the Performing Arts have complained of how the arts are funded by the Arts Council.
