![]() Showing at WMC’s Weston Studio for two weeks from 7-17 November, After the Birds is a pioneering performance which blends theatre, dance, live film and live music. Using elements from Aristophanes’ comedy The Birds, After the Birds is the story of a group of rebels who attempt to create a new, pure, uncorrupted society halfway between humans and the gods. Wales Millennium Centre’s Arts and Audience Development Director Fiona Allan explains, “This will be Earthfall’s second visit to WMC. They are a local company with a great reputation and we look forward to welcoming them back to WMC for what I’m sure will be another successful season.” Earthfall first came to WMC in March 2005 with At Swim Two Boys and if you are familiar with their work you’ll know that they are always capable of surprising you, and as you’d expect, this is certainly no ordinary performance. This pioneering theatre performance work combines urban choreography, Greek song, and a uniquely physical choir, with contemporary live music and film, colliding to create a truly must-see spectacle. “Earthfall are a 21st century phenomenon, inspired by gritty reality and glitzy technology, creating miniature epics with extreme physicality” - The Guardian “…undeniably enjoyable, polished and fast moving…this collaboration manages to be both thrilling and warm.” Planet Magazine Tickets for After the Birds, which is held at WMC from 7-17 November at 8pm, are priced at £12. To book your tickets, call the Ticket Office on 08700 40 2000. |
