The initial inspiration for Blink was the events surrounding the Clywch enquiry - a report into
the systematic abuse of children at a Welsh language comprehensive during the 80's. Though based on tragic events, ‘Blink’ is a warm hearted and comic drama which deals with father figures and family life. Not just a personal story to us in Wales but a universal one that can be recognised by everyone.

Demonstrating the production’s universal appeal, ‘Blink’ has already caught the eyes and imaginations of the producers of the Brits off Broadway Festival in New York. The production will be heading across the pond for a 3-week run in May.

Ian Rowlands has written a fast paced drama about leaving and returning, about the prodigal son who comes back to Wales. Ian says “Blink tumbled out, almost fully formed, as if it had been seeking life for some time; a play that needed to be written, a statement I needed to make.”

Directed by Steve Fisher, ‘Blink’ boasts a strong and impressive cast, with outstanding performances from Lisa Palfrey (National Theatre, Royal Court Theatre), Rhian Blythe (Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru) and Sion Pritchard (Clwyd Theatre Cymru, Sgript Cymru).

Don’t miss your opportunity to see this moving story written by one of Wales’ most prolific writers, performed by three incredible and highly talented performers, and produced by a new exciting Cardiff-based company.

F.A.B. Theatre is a new company brought to you by Artistic Director Steve Fisher and Producer Emma Goad, who between them have 30 years experience of professional theatre making, in Wales and beyond.

‘Blink’ has been produced as a co-production with The Torch Theatre.
