On Saturday 8 December BRIDGEND YOUTH DANCE are delighted to be amongst the cream of youth dance talent from Wales and beyond who will be performing in Diversions’ Dance House in the Millennium Centre in Cardiff. This unique celebration of Youth Dance will include performances from five outstanding dance groups including work by Diversions’ Associates.The four guest companies taking part in the Gala are Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts & Culture Service’s Bridgend Youth Dance, The Move, Dynion Dance, and 2Faced Dance Company. Each of these groups is made up of dedicated young dancers who Diversions are delighted to welcome to the Dance House. The Diversions Associates are a group of extremely talented young dancers from across Wales who attend weekly classes run by the company’s own dancers. The Associates scheme enables young dancers to develop and nurture their skills with the view to following a career in professional dance. The Youth Dance Gala is an excellent opportunity for all those involved to gain experience performing as well as to showcase their technical abilities. The Gala is a highly successful and exciting event and is just one example of Diversions’ wide ranging annual programme of engagement and participatory dance activities run through Diversions’ Dance Explorer. Dance Explorer is an integral part of the organisation’s work and offers opportunities to everyone to explore and enjoy dance whatever their age or ability.
