![]() The star of stirring-up Welsh rugby fans and rattling the opposition with his powerful singing at the Millennium Stadium is set to blow audiences away in Pure Pavarotti. Pavarotti, who died in September 2007, is being honoured in this poignant, funny & emotional look back at his life, at St David’s Hall. Wynne Evans is delighted to be involved in a concert dedicated to one of his idols: ‘Performing at the Millennium Stadium in front of 70,000 Welsh rugby fans is daunting enough but to do justice to the incomparable voice of Pavarotti, in-front of my home crowd, at a packed St David’s Hall is quite something else’. In an operatic treat of monumental proportions Wynne Evans, who will be accompanied by his brother Marc, will perform songs from Rigoletto, Tosca, Pagliacci, Madame Butterfly and La Bohème, to name but a few. The brothers will also transport audiences from Luciano’s humble beginnings in Modena to the dazzling heights of La Scala and The Met and then finally to his death last September. The show will climax with an emotional rendition of Nessun Dorma which, of course, he will always be remembered for having sung as the official song of Italia’90 – the Football World Cup in Italy in 1990. Pure Pavarotti is just one of the amazing One Night Only performances taking place at the National Concert Hall for Wales this year to celebrate St David’s Hall 25th Anniversary.
