![]() Melville Theatre, Abergavenny Theatr Powys brings a new, enchanting adaptation of the centuries old and much loved fairytale Little Red Riding Hood to the Melville Theatre at the Drama Centre, Abergavenny, next Tuesday, 4 March. The company presents a truly original, rich and life-affirming adaptation which explores the tale of this most famous journey through the forest - from its delicious oral beginnings through many of its famous literary, visual and filmic forms in order to craft a highly original interpretation. As the child closed her eyes, willing the morning sun, the wolves watched. When she woke, tooth and claw still shining behind her eyes, she pulled her ruby red cape closer in the early chill. Grandma lived far away and deeper still. But she must journey there. Little Red Riding Hood is a play with music that will enchant the family; a feast for the eye, ear, heart and mind for all those brave enough to stray from the path. Suitable for all ages from the age of six, the show is on tour, playing to packed houses throughout Wales and is receiving a warm response from both young and old alike. Tickets for Little Red Riding Hood are just £6 and £4 from the Borough Theatre box office in Abergavenny, tel 01873 850805. You are advised to book early as it is for one night only.
