WILMOT STARS IN UK TOUR OF HALF A SIXPENCE
TV and theatre favourite GARY WILMOT leads a highly talented cast in a spectacular brand new production of HALF A SIXPENCE which comes to Wales Millennium Centre (WMC) from 24 to 29 March 2008 and features classic songs such as Flash Bang Wallop, If The Rain’s Got To Fall and of course Half a Sixpence.

A fantastic company of actors, singers, dancers and musicians which include Chris Crosby from BBC’s Any Dream Will Do? and Caroline Graham who starred in Channel 4’s Musicality programme re-create the heart warming story of Arthur Kipps, an orphan, who lives and works with other apprentices for the cruel draper, Mr. Shalford. After learning that he is inheriting a fortune, Arthur tries to join the upper class and gets engaged to the wealthy Helen Walsingham. Soon, though, Arthur realises that his true love is his childhood sweetheart, Ann. A tale of love and laughter for the whole family to enjoy!

Fiona Allan, Arts & Audience Director at Wales Millennium Centre says “Gary Wilmot adds his own unique charisma to the Steele character. A charming and likeable showman, he is one of theatre’s shining stars.”

Musical theatre veteran Gary Wilmot plays Arthur Kipps in this new production. Gary has delighted audiences both in London’s West End and across the entire country with his dazzling performances in ME AND MY GIRL, CHITTY, CHITTY, BANG, BANG and COPACABANA to name just a few. He is also well remembered for his own hit TV series SHOWSTOPPERS for the BBC.

Tickets for Half a Sixpence range from £10 to £32. To book, call Wales Millennium Centre’s ticket and information line on 08700 40 2000 or visit the website www.wmc.org.uk
