Welsh Arts Centre in deep ‘blue’ water The Blue Planet Live!, based on the award-winning BBC documentary from David Attenborough, has thrilled audiences in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Montreal and Copenhagen and is now coming to St David’s Hall in Cardiff for 3 performances only from 12-13 April.

Bringing the largest cinema screen to ever be erected in Wales, this huge cinematic and orchestral event will be on an even more breathtaking scale than its previous world tour and comes to Cardiff as one of only 4 cities outside of London.

Currently riding on a crest of a wave itself St David’s Hall, in its 25th Anniversary year, is delighted to have secured this major cultural coup for the city and is looking forward to entering the dramatic underwater world of the oceans with this unique 2 hour edit of the awe inspiring scenes from The Blue Planet TV series.

This is also a rare opportunity to see 5 time Oscar nominee and Ivor Novello winner George Fenton live, conducting his own remarkable work synchronised with these stunning film sequences. Other acclaimed works of his include Gandhi, Cry Freedom, Dangerous Liaisons and the soundtrack to the BBC Planet Earth series to name but a few.

Kate Humble, presenter of some of televisions best-loved wildlife programmes such as Springwatch and Animal Park will be presenting The Blue Planet Live! and the beautiful, atmospheric music will be brought to life by the massive BBC Concert Orchestra.
