HE CAN TALK TO THE ANIMALS…
The legendary Tommy Steele, one of Britain’s best-loved musical stars, returns to the stage in the title role of Doctor Dolittle as the smash hit production comes to the New Theatre, Cardiff for two weeks this Easter. From Tuesday 25 March – Saturday 5 April the man who can talk to the animals will dazzle Cardiff audiences alongside a cornucopia of creatures, spectacular special effects and an extraordinary ensemble of singers and dancers.

Immortalised in the hugely popular film, Doctor Dolittle is a world-renowned veterinarian who speaks a wide array of animal languages. He sets off from his home in Puddleby-on-the-Marsh, England, in search of the Giant Pink Sea Snail. Along the way, he and his friends meet such exotic creatures as the Pushmepullyu and the Great Lunar Moth.

Having appeared in Hollywood hits that include The Happiest Millionaire, Finian’s Rainbow and both West End and Broadway runs of the acclaimed Half a Sixpence, Tommy Steele’s career has spanned 6 decades. 52 years on from his UK Top 40 debut with “Rock With the Caveman” he continues to charm audiences nationwide in sell-out shows such as Singin’ in the Rain, Hans Christian Andersen and most recently Scrooge. Now Tommy comes to the New Theatre, Cardiff in the colossal stage adaptation of Doctor Dolittle.

Featuring the Oscar winning score including the hit songs “If I Could Talk to the Animals”, “I’ve Never Seen Anything Like It” and “My Friend the Doctor”, Doctor Dolittle’s lavish sets, colourful costumes and incredible puppetry will make jaws drop and keep the whole family entertained during the Easter holidays.
