Dragon Sponsorship celebrates relaunch of the new Torch Theatre, Milford Haven

Dragon Sponsorship celebrates relaunch of the new Torch Theatre, Milford Haven Dragon LNG confirmed today its sponsorship of the opening event to re-launch Milford Haven's newly refurbished Torch Theatre, whose multi-million pound makeover owes much to the funding of the Arts Council of Wales.

The sponsorship was offered as a celebratory gesture of support to re-launch the Theatre in true style at a special VIP performance of the Torch Theatre Company's production of The Hired Man on 26 March.

John Burley, the General Manager confirmed Dragon LNG's commitment to the local community and in particular to provide opportunities for young people. "Our sponsorship of the Torch Theatre, with its superb facilities for the youth of Pembrokeshire, enhances and complements our existing programme of community support and partnerships with The Prince's Trust and the Darwin Centre with the focus on training and development of young people".

The news of this latest sponsorship gave Torch staff good reason to smile this week, as their Box Office staff announced that tickets for their opening production of The Hired Man were completely sold out - nearly two weeks before the opening performance!

"We are delighted that Dragon LNG are sponsoring our VIP night and we're sure that this is only the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship between our two companies..." commented Artistic Director, Peter Doran, "... we are both committed to the young people of the area and to the regeneration of Milford Haven, so it's only natural that we should work together and support each other in achieving our joint aims".

Managers of the Torch Theatre met today to decide how they could accommodate the demand for tickets, and later announced that they would give a special Preview Performance on Saturday 15 March, and one extra matinee on Tuesday 25th. Priority will be given to people already on the long waiting list for tickets, the remainder will go on sale on 12th March.
