One of Wales’ foremost touring companies returns to Carmarthenshire Theatres by popular demand with a dramatic and powerful tale of triumph, determination and fulfilling the seemingly impossible as Hijinx present Full Circle at Ammanford Miners’ Theatre, May 1. Through previous productions such as Seize The Day, Estella’s Fire and The Long Way Home, Hijinx are fast making a name for themselves, successfully taking professional live theatre to places others fear to tread, and superbly pushing the boundaries with outstanding performances. Continuing their run of excellent and engaging works, Full Circle is inspired by the true account of Andrew Williams, a man with Down's Syndrome who climbed Everest in 1996. With dogged determination, Andrew pursued his dreams and, through the support of his circle of friends, fulfilled the seemingly impossible: climbing 15000 feet to Base Camp. An inspirational and highly motivating story for all, Full Circle highlights the achievements of a dependent person fulfilling his dream, whilst at the same time reflecting the experience of many young people with a learning disability who find themselves socially isolated after they finish college. Written by Glenys Evans and directed by Gaynor Lougher, this hard-hitting drama was originally toured by Hijinx in 2003 to critical acclaim and the company are thrilled to be able to tour a new production in 2008 with the part of Andrew being taken by Gareth Clark.
