You thought that the pantomime season was over ……well think again! |
OwenMoney Theatre Company’s latest production BUTTONS…UNDONE! is a risqué panto for grown-ups – more of a pantomime farce. Owen Money stars as Buttons with a strong supporting cast in Phylip Harries and Sue Roderick as the Ugly sisters; Sammi Broad stars as Cinderella. The continuing story of Cinderella …….. Its life after Cinders wedding to the handsome Prince Charming – is the marriage going as it should or is there something drastically wrong? Cinderella and Prince Charmings’ year-long marriage is on the rocks. For reasons he can’t explain, the Prince is unable to perform his marital duties in the bed-chamber, which is frustrating for them both. Cinderella wonders if the Prince has fallen out of love with her and seeks affection elsewhere. Buttons meets the now sexually-frustrated Cinderella and after all the years she’s kept him at arms length and always aware of his feelings for her, she agrees to meet him in her bedchamber in the East Wing at midnight for fun and games. The two fairies Annie and Fanny disapprove of all these potential sexual shenanigans and decide to do something about it. So they cast a magic spell over the Prince and Cinderella – and for one night the Prince thinks Cinderella is the sexy wench Norma Snockers and Cinderella thinks the Prince is the hunky Hugh Jorgan. And when the rest of the cast also put in unexpected appearances, the scene is set for a bed-hopping, door-opening, wardrobe-hiding, laugh-out-loud, frantic climax to an hilarious farce. Will Buttons have his wicked way with Cinders? All will be revealed! Buttons … Undone! The play has been especially scripted for Owen Money Theatre Company by Alan Wightman. Buttons…Undone! is to be staged at the Miners Institute, Blackwood (3-4-5 April); Parc & Dare, Treorchy (11-12 April); Grand Theatre, Swansea (17-18-19 April) and last but not least at the Congress Theatre, Cwmbran (24-25-26 April). |
