WORLD DANCE DAY – HOW WILL YOUR SCHOOL MARK THE EVE Blackwood Miners’ Institute are pleased to be offering schools across Caerphilly the chance to celebrate World Dance Day with them this year.

Ludus Dance Company will be resident in Caerphilly from Monday 28th April to Friday 2nd May. Blackwood Miners’ Institute are offering schools the chance to book one-hour dance workshops for pupils in years 5, 6, 7 and 8 on or around World Dance Day which this year is Tuesday 29th April.

The workshops costs £8 per pupil but this also includes a ticket to Ludus Dance’s performance Trapped at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Thursday 1st May at 1.30pm.

Trapped is designed to enhance the teaching and delivery of the PSHE and Citizenship curriculum in schools from Key Stages 2 to 4.

Ludus Dance is Britain's leading dance in Education Company and is recognised worldwide for it’s gripping, humourous, intelligent and incisive dance theatre for young people and first time dance audiences.

Trapped tells the story of a young girl and her mother caught in a life ruled by routine. One day, the mother fails to return home. The daughter sets off on a journey filled with extreme emotions where if she is to succeed in finding her mother, she must learn to negotiate this disturbing and at times seductive terrain.
