BLINK … AND YOU’LL MISS IT!

BLINK … AND YOU’LL MISS IT! One of Wales’ most interesting and exciting playwrights, Ian Rowlands’ controversial and somewhat autobiographical story was inspired by the events surrounding the Clywch enquiry – a report into the systematic abuse of children at a Welsh language comprehensive in the 1980’s.

Despite being based on tragic events, Blink is all about love and family life in a close knit south Wales community, whose secrets start with ‘the rudey club’. An expressionistic set lends an eerie, nightmarish feel to this enthralling and fast paced and occasionally blackly comic drama – yet the play is intelligent, warm hearted and sensitively treated, with some outstanding performances from a strong cast and set to a fantastic soundtrack.

F.A.B. Theatre produced this highly acclaimed production in association with Milford Haven’s Torch Theatre and, following its tour of Wales, will be travelling to New York for a three week run as part of the Brits Off Broadway Festival representing some of the most dynamic work going on in South Wales at the moment.

Blink, can be seen at the Torch Studio Theatre, Milford Haven from Wednesday 30 April to Friday 2 May. To book seats, or for more information, call the Theatre Box Office on 01646 695267.
