Twn Siôn Cati Rides Again At Carmarthenshire Theatres!
|
It’s been a while since the ‘Welsh Robin Hood’ robbed the rich and gave to the poor of Wales, but thanks to Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch, his spirit will be returning to Carmarthenshire, when they present Twn Siôn Cati at Carmarthen’s Lyric, May 21 and Llanelli’s Theatr Elli, 2 July.
Twn Siôn Cati is not just a tale like those in the Horrible Histories series; it’s an hour of captivating live theatre especially for seven to eleven year-olds! Take a trip back in time to the 16th century - it was not a pretty sight! Apart from the stench, the roads were full of danger as highwaymen held up carriages, shouting, “Stand and deliver, your money or your life!” Thankfully Wales had a very special champion who fought against the injustice and tyranny facing his community. Both clever and crafty, this captivating criminal outwitted his enemies, of which, there were many, and made off with their loot! But this lovable rogue was kind to his victims – rather than hurt them, he shot an arrow pinning his nemesis to their saddle.
Following last year’s triumphant The Impossible Parents Go Green, Arad Goch, who specialise in works for children will be performing this terrific tale in both Welsh and English, please contact the box office for performance times. This fast-paced production will be bringing the folk hero of Tregaron alive via music, tricks and tribulations. Twn Siôn Cati rides again - be sure not to miss out!
Tickets, priced £3, are available from the box office: 0845 226 3508/09/10 however, if you live more than eight miles away from the theatre, you may qualify for a discount under Carmarthenshire Theatres’ Town and Country scheme, making tickets £2.50!
