The Ultimate Thriller – violent, very dangerous and very sexy . . . Director Martin Houghton

Suitable for 16 and over

In a new production by the director of last year’s controversial hit, Women Beware Women, Martin Houghton presents a contemporary twist on a timeless classic.

Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama third-year and post-graduate acting students will perform Macbeth at Sherman Cymru in Cardiff.

Martin says “The play will certainly not be a Shakespeare two knits and tights production. It’s aimed at a young adult audience and will explore the lengths that some people will go to control and rule over people. The show is very tribal and presents a primitive society that has been torn apart by war. The play hasn’t been brought up to date in terms of what’s happening in today’s society but what we have aimed to do is refresh what is a universal and age-old theme. I think a lot of people will find the play challenging as we don’t pull any punches. Unlike watching the television there will be no switch to turn off during the bloody parts, but that is also the beauty of theatre, you are engaged and stretched by the whole experience”.

A talented cast, many of whom are in huge demand and have already secured agents. Don’t miss this production. It’ll make your hair curl and put some on your chest too!!!!!
