![]() Cardiff – Chapter Arts Centre (8th – 10th July) Patrick spent months researching the play and “Revelation” is based on over 40 interviews with men who have experienced domestic violence - it tells their stories in confronting this hidden taboo (see Appendix 1). The play tells the story of Dionne and Steve and charts Steve’s journey from being an enthusiastic lover and father in to a shell of a man – psychologically tormented, tortured and physically abused by Dionne. The play follows Steve to the edge of existence. The soundtrack is by James Dean Bradfield, vocalist and guitarist of Manic Street Preachers. Patrick is a poet, playwright, human rights activist and filmmaker. His work includes the poetry collections The Guerilla tapestry and Fuse, the CD of spoken word and music Commemoration and Amnesia and the plays Everything Must Go, Unprotected Sex, The War is Dead Long Live The War and Sing to Me. He has also directed short films and videos for the bands for The Manic Street Preachers and Lethargy. His brother is Manic Street Preachers’ Nicky Wire. Nathan Sussex (Steve) is a Welsh TV, radio and film actor. His credits include Nutters (Directed by Karl Francis), Coronation Street (ITV), Torchwood (BBC) Judge John Deed (BBC) and 2001 BAFTA Winning Drama Care directed by Antonia Bird (BBC) as well as various plays for BBC Radio 3 & 4 Stacey Daly (Dionne) is a Welsh theatre, film and television actress. Her recent credits include “Nutters” (Directed by Karl Francis for BBC), “Asboland” (Bloom Street Productions) and “The Gatekeeper” (Lions Gate films). Stacey is also an experienced voice-over artist. Chris Durnall (Director) is the artistic director of Theatr Ffynnon (The only theatre company in Wales exclusively for adults with learning difficulties). Recent work includes “Cradle to the Grave”, “The Elephant Man”, Strindberg’s “A Dream Play” and “Matthews Passion”. The production has been supported by the Dyn Project Cardiff, The Mankind Initiative, Gwent Theatre, Chapter Arts Centre and the Arts Council of Wales. |
