Shimli is a new and exiting form of theatre in Education Company which gives organizations the chance to promote their message to the youth of Wales through the powerful medium of theatre. Shimli is run by its Artistic Director Siwan Llynor and Director Mared Elliw Huws who between them a have over ten years experience working with the youths of North Wales through drama workshops, and as professional Actresses, Stage Managers and Directors. Following our succesful project with the Road Safey Deparmnet of Anglesey County Council both Mared and Siwan noticed there was a need fod a Theatre Company that could specialise in social subjects. Our work is very interactive and through the actors and our use of multimedia the children can participate fully in the experience. With their knowledge and experience the Directors of Shilmi want to help organizations and charities promote their message within schools and youth clubs in the most informative, exiting and effective way. We are also very keen to develop local talents by employing young, enthusiastic actors, play writes and musicians for different projects. We write plays to your comply with the organizations needs and are very happy to work with our clients whilst developing the play. We can also work with schools working on a theme though Drama Workshops, which is the most effective way of ‘learning through play’. We will be launching our company in the Children’s Festival on Mona Showground on the 2nd and 3rd of July, performing the play ‘ Bus Stop’ by Siwan Llynor – a comic, multimedia and interactive play.
