Fed up with the bad weather and rising prices, Cardiff’s New Theatre is doing something to cheer everyone up this August Bank Holiday weekend. From 20 – 27 August six of the venue’s biggest autumn shows will have their ticket costs reduced by 25% in a bid to lift South Wales’ spirits.The shows included in this Summer Sale are Edinburgh Fringe sensation The Aluminum Show (11-13 September), Oscar Wilde’s comedy An Ideal Husband (22-27 September), Alison Steadman in Alan Bennett’s Enjoy (30 September – 4 October), the hit musical Footloose (6-11 October), Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy Romeo & Juliet (14 -18 October) and the comic masterpiece Noises Off (21-25 October). For the duration of the Summer Sale all full price tickets in the Stalls, Circle and Upper Circle will be reduced in price by 25% at every performance making some tickets as cheap as £5.25 each. New Theatre Marketing Manager, Matt Smith, says “Like everyone else we’re fed up with this summer’s poor weather and rising prices in the shops - so we decided to do something about it! We’ve taken six of our top autumn shows and reduced them by 25% to put a smile back on everyone’s face. We’ve picked a range of shows from laugh-out-loud comedies to a popular Shakespeare, a West End musical to Edinburgh’s biggest hit of the year to ensure all tastes are catered for. The summer may be a washout, but we want to give everyone something to look forward to in the autumn.” Recognising that many people have booked these shows before the Summer sale was announced, the New Theatre is offering these patrons another exclusive offer. Anyone who emails ntmailings@cardiff.gov.uk quoting a valid transaction number found on tickets previously purchased for the Summer Sale shows will receive an email back with a 25% reduction for 2009 shows not yet on sale. The Box Office will be closed between 24-26 August so the Summer Sale will run online only between those dates.
