First Diversions presents…. season at the Dance House, Wales Millennium Centre |
Diversions are inviting dance lovers to a diverse season of entertainment at its Cardiff home, the Dance House at Wales Millennium Centre. This is the first time the company has put together a season of different dance performances to be presented in the Blue Room, Diversions’ comfortable and intimate 100-seater performance space in the Dance House. The season begins with the Dance Company of Wales performing two evenings of its Silver: Autumn programme on September 18, 19. Two sparkling dances from two internationally-acclaimed choreographers hip New Yorker Stephen Petronio and the bold Belgian Stijn Celis. As well as Diversions own 10 dancers the season will include performances by visitors to the Dance House, both other professional dancers, young dancers and development work such as the Welsh Independent Dance New Graduate Showcase (September 26, 27) which features new graduate dancers and new Wales-based choreographers. The season continues in November with its Deep Blue, choreography from Roy Campbell-Moore and Sean Feldman coming at the end of a unique dancers development project run with Aberystwyth Arts Centre (November 3, 4), three new pieces by award-winning Janice Claxton Dance (November 15) and a Youth Dance Gala (November 22) performed by five talented dance groups including Diversions’ Associates.
