The Reduced Shakespeare Company Returns to Cardiff with The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) The original “Bad Boys of Abridgement” bring their West End smash hit, The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) to St David’s Hall Cardiff on Wednesday 24 September.

As with all of the ‘Abridged’ shows gone before from Shakespeare in sixty minutes or The Complete History of America in under an hour, The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) is an affectionate roller coaster ride from fig leaves to Final Judgment, and has been praised by the Sunday Times as “a slick, fast, very funny show...featuring three amazing, skilled performers with immaculate sassy American timing.”

One of the most popular shows in the reduced repertoire of “the other RSC,” The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) sets its reductive sights on The Greatest Story Ever Accepted As Fact! Tackling the great theological questions along the way:

_ Did Adam and Eve have navels?

_ Did Moses really look like Charlton Heston?

_ And why isn’t the word “phonetic” spelled the way it sounds?

Directed by RSC veteran Matt Rippy, who’s well-known to UK audiences as an actor on such shows as Torchwood and movies as Hellboy II and The Dark Knight, The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) will tour fifty-four UK cities and stops off in Cardiff for one night only on Wednesday 24 September.

Critics the world over have raved about this “miracle of miniaturization” (Evening Standard):

From Great Britain:

"Not even the most sombre, uptight Scientologist could take offence at this snappy, slick and utterly entertaining show." Scottish Sunday Express

"Another relentlessly enjoyable romp." The Guardian

From America:

"Be forewarned: this play is not for you if you don't enjoy laughing continuously for two hours until you soak through all the Kleenex in your pocket with mirthful tears. This is one of the funniest evenings I've spent in a theater." The Boston Phoenix
"Pure fun. The troupe seems more anarchic than ever." The Washington Times
And from the Holy Land itself:
“The laughs come like a flood. Before you finish laughing at the first joke, you find yourself laughing at the next one." Ma'ariv News, Jerusalem
