Theatr Ffynnon presents “ELEMENTAL” - performance and exhibition |
The Performance “ELEMENTAL” Monday 8th Dec @ 1.30 and 7.30 This performance forms part of a unique and original project entitled “Elemental” which has been devised, created, and led by over 100 individuals with physical and learning difficulties and takes its inspiration from the visual arts exhibition of the same name. There are three short performances: BLACK/WHITE uses original text created by the membership whilst working with the writer Charles Way. THIS ISLANDS MINE uses Shakespere’s Caliban as a catalyst to explore ideas of identity, ownership and acceptance. THROATSUNS, a poem written by Patrick Jones but devised by the members explores themes of survival following a natural disaster and how we instinctually look to reinvent our lives,.using language, memories, physical objects and debris. The Exhibition ELEMENTAL EXHIBITION Thursday 4th – Thursday 18th December This exhibition features a mixture of collage, sculpture, abstract art and installation work based on the four elements. Visual artist in residence for this project was Emma Prentice. Catalogues of exhibition and performance information will be available for sale.
