“THE SACRIFICE”

“In the beginning was the word…why is that papa?”
A devised movement piece using as its base the film of Andrei Tarkovsky
A group of people engaged in prayer are caught up in an immense natural disaster.
During the aftermath they are forced to unravel and reflect on their lives as they attempt to reconcile and confront their beliefs.
The piece has been created by the group using photographs and mementoes of their life.
Tarkovsky’s final masterpiece was a spiritually significant film that won the Grande prize at Cannes in 1986.
