Statement - Arts Council of Wales and the National Assembly for Wales |
The Arts Council of Wales (ACW) aims to achieve high standards of administrative operation in carrying out its national responsibility for developing the arts in Wales. It is committed to its policy of seeking continual improvement in its management structures and procedures and has already started on evaluating the impact of its major internal restructure which was completed in 1998. ACW welcomes the decision by the National Assembly of Wales Post-16 Education and Training committee to work with ACW in carrying out its review. As one of Wales' Assembly sponsored public bodies, ACW believes it is both timely, at a time of review of cultural policy, and an effective use of public resources, for the committee to carry out its study over the next few months. Both ACW and the National Assembly have the shared aim of ensuring that ACW's operational arrangements, including its systems and procedures are well adapted to carrying out ACW's business both now and in the future.
