Written in 1936, The House of Bernarda Alba deals with the human struggle between oppression and freedom, and was to be the last play written by Spain’s most famous young poet and playwright, as just two months after it was completed, he was murdered by Franco’s supporters. Theatr Pena is a gathering of some of Wales’ finest actresses, theatre practitioners and associated artists who share a passion for engaging and challenging theatre and the desire to create contemporary productions of classic plays.
