IN PURSUIT OF FRANK

IN PURSUIT OF FRANK Frank Vickery makes a welcome return to the Park & Dare Theatre on Monday 25 May to Wednesday 27 May starring in his brilliant comedy Trivial Pursuits. The talented Welsh playwright and actor is delighted to be playing the flamboyant Teddy again (who also appears in Granny Annie), in one of his most popular plays. With biting one-liners, moments of pure slapstick, and hilarious farce, this is Frank Vickery at his comedic best.

The plot of this laugh out loud comedy joins the Trealow and West Amateur Theatrical Society as they are about to cast their next production and, due to the credit crunch, Nick, their director, has to wrestle with some difficult choices in financing and casting the production. So he invites a few actors and some of the committee to a summer barbecue at his home to announce his decision.

As the evening progresses and the alcohol flows, Nick ends up promising a different show and the lead part to more than one actor! Meanwhile the party goes into the wee small hours revealing a blackmail plot, a possible affair, an attempted suicide and a twist at the end that will surprise everyone!

Frank Vickery started writing whilst still in school and had his first major success at the age of twenty-one when his first comedy ‘After I’m Gone’ won the Howard De Waldon Trophy for the best one act play in Great Britain.

Frank now writes extensively for the theatre, radio and television and was recently the subject of a major documentary by BBC Television called ’On Show: Kiss and Tell’.

Frank is now considered to be one of Wales’ the most well-loved writers and performers – adored by audiences and respected by his peers.
