Dawns i Bawb is the umbrella organisation for community dance for North West Wales covering the 3 counties of Conwy, Gwynedd and Ynys Môn. Dawns i Bawb works with local people, with amateur and professional dance practitioners and with choreographers to encourage dance in the area. Dawns i Bawb believe that everyone can dance and works with people of all ages and abilities. Dawns i Bawb have created this exciting project using the powerful medium of dance to raise awareness about environmental issues.

The action packed dance theatre production explores the 4 Rs of Reducing, Repairing, Re-Using and Re-cycling and the effects of climate change on our home the Earth. We follow the journey of Mr Rat and The Keeper on their quest to find Mrs Rat who has been swept away in floods. Our characters travel the world on a magical recycled junk machine, meeting other animals along the way who help them learn more about their world and the effect too much rubbish has on their homes. This is an interactive learning experience for children with the aim of empowering them to live in harmony with their environment. The aim of the workshop is to inspire the children to apply what they have learnt in the show to their own lives. Through dance and theatre exploring the causes and effects of climate change and what we can do to help.

Said Karine Decorne Director of Dawns i Bawb “Using the powerful medium of dance to raise awareness about environmental issues. We commissioned 5 artists to create a show aimed at primary school children aged between 7-11 years. We aim to use what we know how to do best; working with dance and young people, to raise awareness about global warming. The need to change our habits in order to live in a more sustainable way, connecting people with nature by helping to promote the Welsh countryside and appreciating its beauty and promoting a healthier lifestyle.
