The hit new musical inspired by the chart-topping albums Dreamboats and Petticoats The Musical visits the New Theatre, Cardiff for one week only from Tuesday 5 May. Dreamboats and Petticoats became one of the biggest selling albums of the decade after its release last year, selling 600,000 copies. The second album, Dreamboats and Petticoats Two, rocketed to number two in the charts within the first week of its release.Written by Marks and Gran (Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather) this spectacular new production takes a step back to a time when each week brought another classic track. Featuring some of the best songs ever written by artists including Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Chuck Berry and many more from music’s golden era Dreamboats and Petticoats is the ultimate British Rock ‘n’ Roll musical. It’s 1961 and emotions run high as talented young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win the hearts of their adoring female fans – and more importantly, the gorgeous Laura. But when Laura shows she’s no slouch with the guitar, rock ‘n’ roll fame beckons. Leading the cast are X Factor finalist Scott Bruton and Ben Freeman, best known for his role as Scott Windsor in ITV’s Emmerdale.
