The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde     

The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde Moving into the sixth year of his very successful On The Edge script-reading project Michael Kelligan will be presenting his company’s first fully staged production this month at Chapter. ‘The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde As Told To Carl Yung By An Inmate Of The Broadmoor Asylum.’(Based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson) by Mark Ryan. The play was first presented as a reading in last years programme. Now he directs this new production bringing together two actors, Dean Rehman and Nathan Sussex who have both been noted for their strong performances throughout the On The Edge project. Dean Rehman first came to prominence with his very strong performance in Kelligan’s production of Utah Blue by Dic Edward in which he played the embittered murderer Gary Gilmore. He then went on to repeat the performance in a production at Sherman Cymru and has since worked with many companies throughout Wales including Clywd Theatre Cymru and Hijinx Theatre. Nathan Sussex was first spotted for his moving playing of the denied father in Patrick Jones ‘Absents’ and for a particularly captivating and sensitively judged performance in Ian Rowland’s controversial play ‘Blink’ also directed by Kelligan. He has more recently been seen in Coronation Street and Judge John Deed.

‘The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde As Told To Carl Yung By An Inmate Of The Broadmoor Asylum.’(Based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson) will be presented at the Chapter at 8pm from Wed. January 20 until Sat 23 Tickets £10 (Concessions £8)
