A unique opportunity to see Pericles by William Shakespeare and George Wilkins.

A unique opportunity to see Pericles by William Shakespeare and George Wilkins. The poet John Gower presents the story of Pericles, Prince of Tyre, and his quest for a wife.

Pericles first desires the daughter of King Antiochus. As a test, before marrying her, he must answer a riddle or lose his life. Pericles passes the test, but learns that the Princess is living incestuously with her father. Horrified, Pericles returns home, and as penance takes ship for Tharsus, city of Cleon and Dionyza. There he relieves a famine, but reminded of his guilt, goes to sea and is shipwrecked on the coast of Pentapolis....

Directed by Richard Cheshire, who has had many successes at Aberystwyth University and Arts Centre, this mediterranean tale of love, incest, fate and fortune is a must see!
